IPA escalates focus on Labor’s $3k tax affairs cap as election draws closer

As the federal election draws near, the Institute of Public Accountants has urged accountants to thoroughly consider and speak out about the impact of Labor’s plan to limit the deductions for the cost of managing tax affairs to $3,000.

In May 2017, Labor announced that it would seek to introduce a cap on managing tax affairs if it came into government, in a bid to raise $1.8 billion over a decade.
